What was interesting was the grape combination of zin, petite verdot and chard and they worked together quite nicely against a backdrop of a mildly spicy dish of salmon. This wine, while not great, was interesting and certainly has its place - the pet verdot lengthens the life of the zin and therefore the wine has the characteristics of a Venge zin (a bit sweet) offset y the petite verdot which give the wine a nice niche.
