February 18, 2011 - Dark, deep, and incredibly subtle, this wine’s aroma makes you work pretty hard to define it. Rich notes of fennel, blackcurrant, and just barely ripe black plum make up the core of the aroma, while light hints of raspberry and toasty oak tones open with a spin in the glass.

Like the nose, the palate of this wine is incredibly subtle. It is dominated by dark berry tones, a hint of raspberries and cream, and pipe tobacco. There is a pleasant spiciness and a black stone minerality that add an extra level of depth and structure to the palate. This is a very well integrated wine, with tons of complex, tightly knit together flavors. This is an impressive effort now, but given a few years in the cellar, this wine will evolve beautifully.
