May 7, 2011 - Drank this as a part of a vertical tasting (1990 to 2006). Highlight of the day among the older wines were the 1994, 1995 and 1996 - medium bodied, fully integrated oak, lovely hints of black currant on palate, and eucalyptus nose. The 2001 was also drinking very well. The 2004 and 2006 show plenty of promise but the oak is still overpowering. 2000 was weakest; both 2002 bottles showed faults (cork taint/brett?). Wines appear to need 10 to 15 years to really hit the mark. The 1990 was excellent but has reached its best.
