  July 12, 2011 - I don't remember it being this sweet when I tried it 6+ months ago, but I get that now. The nose turned me off because it was overwhelmingly alcoholic. Too much candied fruit lacking a backbone. Definitely not stylistically Syrah. I miss any pepper-like qualities. If you're looking for fruit, this is your Syrah. Do not expect an Old World Syrah, otherwise you will be disappointed. I wouldn't classify it as 'dead' or in its 'latent' period but I also wouldn't expect it benefiting from any further time spent in the bottle.
