  August 5, 2011 - Opened, decanted 60 minutes. Medium purple, slightly lighter on the edge. Wonderful nose of dark berries, cherry, and soft smoky notes. On the palate, still a little tight but just lovely with extra air - dark cherry, spice, smoky meat, herbs and hints of dark plum. Nice medium finish with a cherry afternote that lingers. While this wine will benefit from a few year in the rack, it is quite lovely now with enough air - i would suggest decanting about 90 minutes to really let it begin to show....
