  August 20, 2011 - This bottle of Ridge is the only difficult one we've ever had in over 7 years of drinking Ridge wine. We called it the problem child. The wine tastes nearly like it is corked, yet it is not corked, and it did not want to open up. Tasted more like a merlot than a zinfandel - vegetal. We even decanted the bottle and it didn't help very much. Disappointing. Bottle shock? We have another bottle we'll try in a couple of years.
