The palate, while not exactly brutal, is quite brawny. Lots of tannin nestled in a thicket full of bramble, damson, blueberry, bacon and mesquite. This needs a bit of time in bottle still, and could stand a few hours on air if consumed now. I love what the Sabon’s have done with their 2009 harvest. I'm placing this smack in the middle of their 2009 hierarchy, the VV leading the pack and Chaupin a very tight third.
