November 5, 2011 - Needed about an hour to get rid of the CO2. Then a deep and perfumy nose of dark Gevrey character. In the mouth smooth with wonderfully intense and deep flavors and nice earthy undertones. There’s some notable tannin, but it is so smooth that it only enhances the mouthfeel. This is truly impressive for a village wine and has none of those negative attributes (over-ripeness, too low acidity etc.) associated with some 2009 red Burgundies. Drinking absolutely great now, but must be given time for the gas to dissipate.
