December 5, 2011 - Intense plummy blackfruit, blackcurrant, plummy, minty, gentle cooked jammy nose, evidence of oak and wood shavings on the nose. The palate was closed at the beginning but lots of concentration of the fruit, genetl acidity and firm structure - velvety tannins. It took couple of hours to open up but the intensity on the nose and palate held together. This was being compared to the La Croix de Gay (2008) (separate review) which was being had over lunch with seabass, steak and lamb.
