January 21, 2012 - As with prior note, cork crumbled on opening. Also double decanted to remove cork bits and some of sediment. My first mistake with this wine, was not letting it sit for some time to let sediment settle. For this reason wine was very murky. Did not hurt wine, just did not add to experience. Cloudy, brick in colour. Clean nose of dried fruits, tobacco, and leather. Dry, med acidity, smooth tannins, med body, still lots of fruit, dried fruit, cedar, and tobacco. Still nice finish. Wine is drinking well, but will not get much better. If you have some in cellar I would drink it up.
