June 27, 2012 - Clear deep ruby that goes from the core to the meniscus before fading. This is a developing wine with a clean nose of medium-plus intensity. Ripe cherries, smokey cinnamon, and a strong meatiness come to the fore. The palate is dry with medium-minus acidity, and medium-plus tannins, alcohol, and flavors. The full body is loaded with jammy black fruit, black pepper, cinnamon, and eucalyptus that linger on the long finish. This is a very good meritage and is ready to drink now, but will certainly develop with aging. This is a mid-priced bargain at ~$18.
