July 11, 2012 - This wine was enjoyed aginst its cousin a Domaine Leflaive Batard Montrachet 1997 (a much more classical Montrachet with good mineral elements). The Criots-Batard Montrachet from Oliveier Leflaive was a very good wine. The colour was deeper tone of yellow with pinkish hues. The initial bouquet had a fruity essence to it unlike a Montrachet. There were strong tones of a peachy apricot smell and it bordered a Sauternes more than Montrachet. When drunk the fruity zest was also noticeable in the palete. Whilst not a bad wine at all, it should not be drunk with the pretense of a Montrachet an shoul jusbe enjoyed for what it is a good value wine to be enjoyed in the Summer.
