July 11, 2012 - Tasted along side its nephew, Olivier Leflaive Criots-Batard Montrachet 1997. It was interesting how two Domaines situated close to each other and held by seperate family members could be so different.

The Domaine Leflaive tasted very well. Although 97 was not the best of years, this wine has held well and had been stored in extremely well. The wine poured still retained a light crisp yellow hue (the Criots-Batard has already evolved to a deeper yellow with pinkish hues). Initial bouquet retained apples and pears and the palate reminded of butter scotch and minerals. Should still evolve well.
