August 15, 2012 - A chameleon of a wine. Not so much orange as burnished gold by now. Poured from bottle cellar temp. At first, very austere, tight, bordering on harsh with some butterscotch and yellow fruits, plums? peeking through. With an hour out, huge, creamy palate, great balancing acidity, well incorporated fine tannins, a complete package. Accompanied roasted Rougets, potatoes, and carrots, all treated simply. The flavors harmonious. Great depth and persistence on this wine. The creaminess hints at honey and lanolin but is held in check by the acids.Never fatiguing.A great wine worth waiting for. we'll see how the last glass does in a day or so.
