Community Tasting Note

August 21, 2012 - This bottle had been acquired about a year ago at an estate sale and given to me. It was opened with a group to taste it. We did not decant due to its age and not knowing what would happen. Well, let me tell you, this took a couple of minutes to open up and was then very enjoyable. It is clearly a very old Chardonnay but had an amazing amount of fruit left which was combined with a hint of dust or mushroom. In retrospect I think it could have stood decanting as the wine actually continued to open up over the next half hour (at which point it was gone) and had enough body to stand up to the air. All who tasted this were glad they did.
