September 29, 2012 - Wow, what a nice white. This was the 1st of 4 wines enjoyed tonight. This wine was enjoyed as a pop and pour (or an unscrew and pour). Our mission was to make the two people who don't like white wine to actually LIKE a white wine. Mission accomplished. This wine was straight up creme brulee, mineral, pear, and a hint of pineapple around a TON of spice on the finish. I was extremely surprised by the amount of spice on the finish here. Almost like a green pepper or almost a jalapeno finish. NICE. There was no oak barrel finish - no obnoxious butter or burned butter. I felt that this one could have competed with a lot of chardonnays that I have had in the past, but it just didn't have that level of complexity. The wine was surely balanced. I will see if I can acquire a case o 2010, but this 2008 is still going strong. This wine was enjoyed with goat cheese stuffed peppers and some pico salsa. Beautiful wine. I wish I had another half case of this!!

12/14/12, 7:24 PM - Yes! I saw that when I went searching. DECEMBER is the time to buy this wine with $12 case shipping and $45 off a case!!! I didn't buy the 2011, 10, 09, or the 2008 - interestingly I bought a case of the 2012 as they are saying this is one of their best vintages of this wine. 71% fruit weight is the highest I have seen and is likely to age beautifully. I will enjoy aging these...and drinking a couple initially.....probably need to buy another case.
