September 29, 2012 - Cork was soaked 3/4 through. Nose is moderately intense, red spicy fruits; palate is medium bodied, good acidity, integrated tannins, red fruits; finish is a little bitter, red fruits. This one isn't flawed but overall this is disappointing given the reputation of the producer and the price. I'm not convinced that I was rewarded for aging this, and it doesn't show anything unique and pales in comparison to much lower priced wines from the region. 86

Update: 2 hrs air- nose has filled out with more body, darker fruits, more spicy complexity; palate is a bit heavier, better darker fruits; still a tad bitter finish. Better, but still not as good as I was hoping. 87-88
