October 18, 2012 - This one was supposed to be an absolute knock-out. Having drunk many d'Auvenay whites before, and Chevy's from various vintages, I knew exactly what to expect from this bottle, and that is sheer depth, great minerality, toasted hazelnuts, lemon-y hints, etc.... the flavor breadth should've been amazing, and so should've been the scents.

I was somewhat disappointed by this one. It might very well have been how the bottle was stored since release, as I bought this bottle only 6 months ago.
The fact remains that it was clearly on its way down. Bee wax was starting to take precedence over every other smell/taste, and the acidity was somewhat lacking. And this kept increasing as the bottle was drunk. Damn it my hopes were very high, but I was a bit let down.
