October 20, 2012 - Strong blackberry, black currant and cedar on the nose. Initial burst of black fruit, spice, and an earthy undertone on the palate. Full-bodied, very tannic, but with a structure that suggests it could improve with 3-5 years of additional cellaring. Long finish with cedar and tart dark fruit. Heavy sediment, so let the bottle rest upright for a day or two, or decant well. For drinking during 2012-2013, an hour or so in the decanter would probably give good results, otherwise lay it down until 2014, then drink for the next 4 or 5 years. (Drank at Yield Wine Bar in San Francisco.)

12/8/14, 6:36 PM - Thanks for the comment. I have always liked Hendry Cab and I just picked up several bottles of the 2007; I look forward to trying them.
