  November 6, 2012 - Straight off, the wine greets with a very inky color and texture accompanied by slow, colored legs. As imagined, I was greeted by wafting aromas of blueberry and cassis, and perhaps a bit of stone. It drank nicely, but again with heavy overtones of blueberry, blackberry, and even some vanilla with a very full body. Tannins were now subdued and the Kobalt ends with a long finish, but less as a result of flavor and more from octane due to the alcohol. It's a fine wine, but it's a linear wine with better, more elegant efforts from its peers in this price range.
