  February 21, 2007 - Popped and poured - no decanting. Color was lighter than expected - brownish purple. The nose was immediately open - classic Turley zin notes - spicy, tangy, ripe berry notes. On the palate, the wine didn't show nearly as well, as it seemed a little disjointed. The acidity initially juts out, then when the fruit shows, it has a decidedly pruny edge to it. The wine reverts back to fine form on the finish, which actually comes across as somewhat refined, with excellent length and ample power. Overall, a great nose and a great finish, but the mid-palate suffers in comparison, making it hard for me to love the wine.
