  January 1, 2013 - Wonderfully expressive nose of earth, tobacco, faded tart red fruits, bruised apples and smoke. The palate is graceful, tannins mellow but apparent. The flavours are so complex, with baked plums, cranberries, cinnamon, cigars, burnt leaves, and a spice i cannot figure out. The texture is lithe and gently mouth filling. Its always elegant, and is a very savoury wine in a way that belies its origins as grapes. Fascinating and wonderful. My only bottle sadly but such an appropriate way to end 2012 and see in 2013.
