January 17, 2013 - The decanting definitely helped (about 10 hours of double decanting). This thing came roaring out of the bottle full of power. The density of this wine was impressive, there were some great layers under there. Long lasting finish. Could use 5-10 more years. 96 points for me, so far my WOTY.

1/17/13, 8:11 PM - Planning on opening a pair of these next September. It is good to know that the wine is drinking eel. If t was up to me, I would hold, but what can you do?

1/17/13, 8:28 PM - I wouldn't be shy about a long decant, it worked well for me! I poured it into decanter, rinsed the bottle & dried it, then poured the wine back in the bottle. Did this about 10 hours before drinking. Enjoy!

1/17/13, 8:41 PM - I am a big fan of the double decant. I did this almost 24 hours prior to serving a heavily soaked St. Estephe wine last year. It was a bourgeois and it still needed every one of those 24 hours. I'm almost always double decanting Bdx, Burgs, and heavily soaked West Coast Cabs when taking a wine to a restaurant or somebody else's home. Pop and pour is for when a wine is shared by just a pair of people that have the time to watch it develop.
