  January 25, 2013 - Purchased from a mixed lot of old produttoris. the other bottles have all been sound, so i don't believe it was bad storage, but its impossible to know - in any case, this wine was clearly past it. Still had some nice notes of dark fruit and goudron on the nose, but reminded me more of sherry than wine at this point. Tasted far older and more oxidized than I would have expected. Not a huge surprise for the vintage - have had a mixed bag with 85s, some being still youthful and incredible, and many others having aged earlier than the reputation would suggest.
