March 4, 2013 - Not one of the stellar offerings of the 2007 CdP vintage, by any means. But that's reflected in the price ..... it's one-fifth or less the price of some of the top standouts of this vintage. Serviceable, but not particularly elegant or refined, rather artless, awkward and plain. Predominant experience of alcohol on nose and palate, followed by distinct notes of meat, beef and leather. A bit of a bore in comparison with the stars of this vintage, but then again, it's not anywhere near as expensive. After about an hour of air, all you get is lots of alcohol and some rather pedestrian wine. Personally, from the same vintage, I'd *much* prefer the Monpertuis Secret de Gabriel at this (and even lower) price point, or the Janasse Chaupin for a bit more.
