April 5, 2013 - The pleasures a wine like this one offers are easy to miss, especially if not following in the glass for hours. The red currant, olive and plum on the nose were elegant; the waves of cherry, cocoa and blackberry on the palate were so integrated and subtle and showed their best with a pairing of pork chops stuffed with wild rice. Tannins were there and the acidity very present, though the mouthfeel was still soft – perhaps due to the merlot dominance in this enjoyable blend. 42% merlot, 30% cabernet sauvignon, 19% cabernet franc, 9% malbec.
