Community Tasting Note

May 8, 2013 - This was a huge disappointment. I decanted the bottle for over two hours (with periodic tasting sips to see how it was coming along) and it just never opened up and was miserably thin, with a nasty heat on the back-end. I have 3 other bottles, so I will give them some time in the cellar before popping open another one. I've changed my initial rating to an NR.

5/8/13, 11:00 AM - Are you certain this wasn't a bad bottle? I have gone through a few bottles and have always been shocked at how well this drinks young and without a decant.

5/8/13, 8:41 PM - Inopened a bottle just the other mnth, and my experience couldnt be more different. I'm thinking perhaps there was so ething wrong with your bottle, as I've never heard anyone describe 07 Scarecrow as thin.

5/9/13, 11:24 AM - It's possible it was a bad bottle (and this note is for the 2009, not the '07, btw, since the comment above refers to '07). Bottle shock is N/A as I bought it at Thanksgiving and has been resting in my cellar ever since. Keeping my fingers crossed for the other 3 bottles I have!

5/11/13, 11:23 AM - Weird ... I swear your note showed up under 07 Scarecrow when I saw it. For what it's worth, I recently had the 09 M Etain and loved that as well - actually liked it better than the 09 Scarecrow. I certainly thought it was a huge wine, andnot at all reticent. Luckily you have 3 more - Id be shocked if the next o e wasnt totally different.
