April 10, 2007 - Had a tough time deciding if this made it to outstanding or just excellent. More Burgundian, IMO, than many other W-S offerings. Nothing really hit me until mid-palate when the fruits really started to come out, along with a little alcoholic heat. Some cola and chocolate toward the end, with a very nice balance of tannin. LOTS of sediment...a couple of teaspoons at least. Matched well with a chicken w/mushroom cream sauce. Based on trends in others ratings, I may have missed the peak. Time to drink up the rest of my bottles.

Had another bottle last night (5/12/07), and opened it a couple of hours before we drank it. Similar tasting to the freshly opened bottle, but a little softer all the way around. Lots of sediment in this bottle, too.
