June 3, 2013 - NobleRottersSydney - Random night (Verde, East Sydney): [screwcap, 14.5%] {DavidC} There’s something wrong with this; it’s fungal and bretty. There are inky earthy spiced flavours underneath, but the palate is overlaid with a distinctly bacterial character, giving a harsh finish. There’s charcoal oak, sure, but there’s little presence on the mid-palate (in a McLaren Vale chiraz, of all things!) and the finish is very short. I can’t believe this bottle is characteristic. Weird.

7/1/13, 6:32 PM - Forgive me if I read your tasting note incorrectly, but it appears as if you said the wine was a "screwcap," (no cork)? [screwcap, 14.5%] Sorry the bottle was flawed.

7/2/13, 6:46 AM - Very interesting. All of mine are corks and have been amazing. Again, sorry yours was flawed, hopefully the next one will be better.

7/4/13, 11:39 AM - Sorry to read about the poor showing btl you guys had. We've had 2 of this one so far, and they've been just simply outstanding with extra all. Our Dead Arms from '06 and onwards have all been screw caps.

7/8/13, 5:09 AM - I've since discovered that in '06 both screw caps and corks were used with the U.S. market receiving mostly cork bottles.
