  July 22, 2013 - Deep purple in the glass on the pop and pour. Nose has some initial alcohol on it mixed with red fruit. But its the palate where this shines. Lots of tobacco and barnyard with lively acidity but moderated with some vanilla bean. Fruit is predominantly black fruit with some red fruit showing through. Lots of tannin on the back end which will integrate nicely over the next few years. Long finish which clamps down on the back end with serious tannins. Restrained but pleasurable. Prefer this much more than the 2008.
