August 2, 2013 - Light ruby color without much bricking; nose overall is quite subtle, some chewy fig, dark spice, a little brambly; palate is light bodied but quite masculine, tannins kick in a bit roughly in the midpalate, not much fruit; finish is short and continues the rough tannin. Let's see if this opens up, but right now this is no better than average: Lacking fruit (kills the enjoyment of the wine), too drying, lacking complexity. Not a bad food wine, but certainly not worth buying at the prices it is likely commanding, and no real upside that I can see in the future. 85
