August 6, 2013 - This keeps getting better each time I taste it. Powerful, masculine, concentrated and tannic, this has all the right stuff to age. It's cassis, tobacco, cedar and earthy profile scream Pauillac. Give it a few hours in the decanter, if you can hold off, another 3-5 years will add even more complexity. This sold for close to $25 as a future!

11/12/13, 1:19 PM - Hi Jeff, thinking of bringing this wine to a Bordeaux tasting and was wondering if there's a particular French cheese that pairs well with it. Let me know if you have any thoughts. Again many thanks.

11/13/13, 4:15 PM - I am very simple when it comes to food and wine pairing, as well as cheese and wine pairing. I'd grab the cheeses I liked best and pair them with the wine. Most cheese will work. I would probably avoid overly strong or sweet cheeses. Other than that, it's a great pairing.

12/1/21, 1:56 PM - I love the extra knowledge you bring to your notes, Jeff, like how much the 2000 GPL cost as a future. I just started collecting wine a couple years ago, and it’s shocking to learn how much prices have risen! GPL still seems like a pretty fair shake at $59/btl as a future for the 2019 vintage, though.
