Community Tasting Note

August 14, 2013 - Leaves, dirt, blueberry, maybe some lavender on the nose. Fig and gingerbread also. Spice, cocoa, and blackberry. Big raw tannins, tart acidic entry. Seems a little out of balance, but I think it's just young. Long cocoa finish. This was after about a 30 m decant. After an hour or so it started to knit together much better. The last glass left me wanting more.

8/15/13, 7:50 AM - agree on all these notes. huge wine, i think the last one i had was similar...probably didn't decant well enough. probably could use 2 or 4 hours of being open first. Good tasting note to note that, though. thanks.
