  August 21, 2013 - On opening this one was a little funky, with red berry notes, sandalwood, and spice. With an hour or air it opened up a lot and the animal opened to light leather. The palate is certainly more structural than most of the Brunellos I've had from this year, but it is also very generous and complex, with loads of earthiness, spice and sweet red fruit. I didn't really find the acid and tannin getting in the way of everything else. Solid finish, solid food wine. This may improve over the next few years.
