I was expecting more even though 2001 isn't one of the 4 or 5 vintages of the century in the 2000's. With a lot of swirling I got some dark fruit, tobacco and minerals. Tannins were rounded but present on the finish. Decent acidity but just a bit lacking. I know it is still young but I had a few of these and wanted to try it. Hopefully just in a dump phase as I really wanted to like it but just wasn't very impressed.
