  September 6, 2013 - Popped and poured and immediately stuck my nose in then drank, which was a mistake. The acidity was overpowering, almost to the point of undrinkable. I really thought this was corked, though there was no indication on the nose. After about 10 minutes it settled down and all was in balance. Strong pepper, meat and tobacco flavors shine through to a silky finish. I left a little for day 2 to hopefully compare to a Saxum. We will see.....
  
  Day 2 up against Saxum Broken Stones 2005. Held up very well, but the Saxum is somehow in another class. Still the Nuts and Bolts is one of the great values out there..
