  October 7, 2013 - Bricking at the edges, meaty iron nose with a trace of smoke, fruit took something time to show (bottle open for a hour). Rather rustic feel on the palate. Tannins still asserting themselves, which went well with a meal of rich lamb chops - still has many years ahead. Finish fairly long thanks to the tannic nature of the wine. Thoroughly complex although didn't give as much pleasure as some of the other aged Bordeaux I've had - structured but didn't enjoy each of the individual components that much. Fairly high score on the complexity.
