  October 12, 2013 - The wine is a ruby-garnet red with a brick red rim. The nose is almost sublime - good (med+) intensity with plum, red fruit (strawberry), vanilla, cherry and a very nice floral component (lilac?)with a slight minerality to it. On the palate, acidity is high, tannins are high - but very smooth (with a tinge of ripeness). Flavors of plum, cherry, blueberry and black pepper accompanied by a long finish. A great wine that is just coming on-line after 5 years in the cellar. While the high alcohol is tad distracting, I really like the finesse on the nose and the overall balance of the wine.
