drank over 3 days, decanted on day 1 for 1 hour
    nice cork

color - nice glossy magenta , nothing to worry about
nose - started off a bit closed and by the end, this was opening up with nice bright cherry, a little under brush and some licorice. really nice and expressive. by day 3, the fruit had faded on the nose. i would not say this was "earthy" but more along the lines herbs, licorice and perhaps some bark
palate - this started off more along the line of red fruit, bright and alive. as time passed, the wine became darker, more astringent ( in a good way ) with licorice and a slight hint of root beer.
over, this turned out very nicely. i am so happy that i had bought 3 bottles at around 15 euros. if i find more, i will not hesitate to buy another1 or 2. next bottle will be opened in perhaps 3 years and i might save the last one for its 10th birthday. this was my first lapierre and i am a fan.
