October 29, 2013 - Shafer Winery tasting. Closed nose that shows slight hints of citrus, pear, and vanilla. Produced using non-malolatic fermentation which allows a crisper house style. Aged in 75% new oak and 25% stainless. Nice crisp mouthfeel culminating in a nice long finish. Overall, disappointing and not up to the level of previous Red Shoulder Ranch Chards. This opinion was shared by the other members of my party.
