November 13, 2013 - Just received this order today so popped a bottle with dinner (porcini mushroom risotto). Lighter in color and more transparent than most other Turley's, but nice red/garnet color. Fragrant when opened with more of a red fruit/plum note than deeper black fruit. both my wife and I agreed there was some note of mint/menthol/eucalyptus on the nose - not strong but there. I got some chocolate. not a jammy wine to drink but pleasantly fruity, dry and though 15.5% alcohol not hot. not one of our favorites in terms of Turley's but definitely a decent wine. Complemented the risotto nicely. Clearly less 'big' than the 2011 Juvenile we had last night.

11/13/13, 5:16 PM - I'd be curious if you wait a couple weeks and pop another bottle of the same wine if your tasting notes would change. My Turleys are shook up pretty good after shipping, and I need to let them sit for a couple weeks. That said, I also ordered the Old Vine, and am looking forward to trying it.

11/14/13, 4:18 AM - To wnance, thanks for the observation. I had not thought about the wine needing time off the truck to settle down. It won't be a problem going back in a couple of weeks and trying another bottle, as you might imagine. I will see what changes I notice.
