November 16, 2013 - Drank at Jeannie's 50th bday weekend. Never had this before, but bought it when the 2000s were first released, likely after having read an RP review where he claimed it to be a 'sleeper' of the vintage. Dark purplish color, nose of dark fruits, & perhaps some lavender. More full bodied than expected, very plummy, jammy, highly extracted, soft tannins though still very evident in the juice, some spice too. A well made wine, but not my cup of tea. Lots of time left here for it to, perhaps, mellow a bit...I hope
