  December 2, 2013 - Chateau D'Issan Tasting with Emmanuel Cruse (Crystal Wines Valley Point): Curious nose of mushrooms (truffles?) and a hollow cork scent, but no barnyard or brett notes; not finding the nose pleasant at all. Bricked colour showing its age (especially evident next to all its younger counterparts), perhaps looking a bit advanced for a 1996. Plenty of perfumed fruit and still plenty of tannin to carry it further; structure is there but I am not enjoying the overall package.
