December 9, 2013 - Tobacco, plum, chocolate, violets and cherry liqueur sensations are all over the place. 1989 Clinet has been variable, with many bottles showing well, but not at the same level of promise they displayed in their youth. Finally, a bottle that rocked the house with its ostentatious display of silky, exotic fruit and rich velvety textures. I wish every bottle of this wine was at this level. Sadly, there seem to be a lot of bottle variation that could be attributed to the wine, corks or storage.
