January 26, 2014 - I often agree with Jeff Leve's tasting notes, but from time to time I find his rating too high, but not this time. Power, ripe merlot, perfect tannins, lots of black fruit, creamy and balanced. You can only say that the wine is a bit square at the moment due to its childhood.

As I am no longer considered middle aged-66 years old-I have a body imposed deadline for tasting my aging wines-whenever that will be:) Instead of waiting five to ten years-I am thinking of cracking open the next bottle in three years. I am also considering buying two more bottles online to get back up to a full case. I have been drinking wine for over 45 years and just started with Pomerol's. Why did I wait so long? 10/25/15, 7:43 AM - I just read on your page "Dream wine: 1959 Mouton-Rothschild" That is exactly the same as me. Had it around 1983. It has now become somewhat of a joke as anyone who asks a close friend of mine and myself what is the best wine we have ever tasted we both state in unison 1959 Mouton-Rothschild:). Dave
