  January 27, 2014 - Such a shocking wine. Despite the prestige of the vintage it is rare to find Bordeaux of this price point that drinks so elegantly.
  
  In the glass it is a rather dull ruby with garnet edges. The nose is classic and elegant already showing mature signs of damp forest floor, mushroom and leather. At the foreground the warm fruit qualities really help this wine exude true bordeaux character. Notes of fig, cassis, candied cherry and date all come through - perhaps even more so on the palate.
  
  The structure is still there but has softened. The tannins and acid work together with the fruit. Perhaps it is just peaking at the moment or perhaps it will continue to age well for another five years, only time will really tell.
