  color - nice dark crimson, showing a slight tint of age, nothing to worry about
  nose - nice and quite expressive showing notes of dark fruit, clean and pure. this is just starting to show some secondary aromas of top soil and a hint of tobacco
  palate - nice and deep mid palate, showing a mix of good red and black fruits. tannins are wonderfully integrated. i do not know about the o5 vintage here, but the most striking thing about this wine is the freshness. it is deep but not heavy and is very food friendly. nice healthy length on this one too
  
  note - this was my first experience with refusco which is a local grape in the veneto. i am not sure that is grown in other places. between not knowing the cepage, coming from felluga and the wine merchant telling me that felluga makes the best refusco…. i bought it.
  we drank this with some venison over dinner. perfect with any sort of red meats maybe even heavy pasta with a meat sauce. this has italy written all over it
