January 3, 2014 - APPEARANCE: clear; medium garnet, medium legs & tears
NOSE: clean; medium intensity; flavour characteristics: red fruit (straberry, raspberry, red cherry), blackberry, forest floor, sweet spice (vanilla), floral note (violet); developing
PALATE: dry; high acidity; medium+ body; medium tannin (fine grained but grippy); medium+ alcohol; long finish; pronounced flavour intensity; flavour characteristics: as per nose: blackberry, raspberry, strawberry, forest floor, tobacco, white pepper, slightly bitter
READINESS FOR DRINKING: can drink now, but has potential for ageing 3+ years
FURTHER REMARKS: very good wine with nice concentration, starting to show its complexity, strong components are nicely balance. Slight bitterness prevents it from being outstanding. Overall very good value!
