  March 8, 2014 - Double-d c45 mins. Nose has striking red cherry skin, with a trace of beef. Bright and pure: remarkable fruit for the age. An immensely citric palate; a thrill. I note a drink-by date of 2007 above: a classic case of modern critics originally missing the idea of the closed period. Confounding for me too, in respect of my perception of '99 being a darker-fruited, moodier vintage. This village wine has 8-10 more years! Might gain more aromatic complexity as it calms. 93 now though!
