April 3, 2014 - Orange at the rim, tending to black at the core - leather, earth and slight strawberries on the nose. Significant sediment, when first opened this wine was very tart and closed - two hours in the decanter have made quite a difference: the wine has relaxed, put on weight and the acidity has become less searing. The wine is quite dense and powerful, but secondary flavours dominate, still a trifle tannic on the finish.
